What the logbook notes
- Connection details: IP address; the approximate town or county that address points to; the user-agent string of your browser; which pages were fetched and when.
- Messages you send: whatever name, email, topic and text you put in an email to us through the contact form.
- Your consent setting: on or off for each optional category, held in your own browser's local storage.
Reasons for keeping it
- Keeping playnfors online and guarding it against abuse: our legitimate interest.
- Analytics, so we know which hotel notes readers open: only if you agree.
- Marketing, in the sense of a referral network crediting a stay that began here: only if you agree.
- Answering your letters: legitimate interest, or because you asked for a reply.
Who else gets a copy
Hosting and traffic-counting firms process connection details for playnfors on contract terms. When the advertising switch is on, referral and partner networks receive identifiers tying a reservation to a tap made here. After the jump to a hotel website, the hotel's privacy terms are what count. Messages you send us are not sold, rented or traded.
A few of these processors sit outside your country, in the US for example; if the law demands it, playnfors moves data abroad only under recognised protections such as the EU standard contractual clauses.
Shelf life
Raw playnfors server logs are wiped inside 90 days; analytics totals live for 26 months at most. Correspondence: for as long as a conversation is live, plus no more than two years. Consent setting: twelve months, then the bar asks you afresh.
European rights (GDPR and UK GDPR)
Anyone reading from the EEA or Britain can ask playnfors for a copy of their data, for corrections, for erasure or for a portable file; they may restrict or object to processing, and may take back consent whenever they like, which leaves earlier lawful processing intact. Complaints may also be lodged with the privacy watchdog of your own country.
Californian rights (CCPA and CPRA)
California residents may learn the categories and the particular items of personal information we keep, have them corrected or deleted, cap how sensitive information is used, and say no to playnfors selling it or passing it on for ads that trail people around other sites and apps (cross-context behavioural advertising). On playnfors, a GPC browser signal is honoured as exactly that refusal and turns advertising cookies off on its own. Exercising any of these rights never earns worse treatment.
Readers under 18
playnfors is written for adults. Anyone younger than 18 should not send personal data our way. Should a minor's message reach us anyway, we erase it.
